3rd Flight of the 5K on The Runway

To celebrate the start of 3 daily roundtrip weekday flights to Chicago, we will be hosting the 3rd Flight of the 5K  on the Runway  on Saturday, Nov. 17th at the airport!

This third time ever event at the airport will utilize half of the airport's crosswind runway  RWT 14/32 and its adjacent taxi way to form a two lap- U-shaped course.  You will be running or walking in spaces typically only accessible to aircraft, and have a perspective reserved for pilots and passengers of the aircraft that utilize Barkley Airport everyday.  In addition our main runway 4/22 will remain open and active for the event, so hopefully you will see a few aircraft take off and land during the race further adding to the unique environment of this course.

Entry fee is $30 for this race, which includes a free long-sleeved T-shirt.

The proceeds from this event will go to the Easter Seals West Kentucky Art Program.  Click here to learn more about the program.

Medals will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in  classes for both men and women.

Participants and spectators will be parking in the main terminal parking lot. (You will not have to pay for parking for this event.)
